The Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art presents Understanding Contemporary Art and Architecture, a new lecture series examining the materials, function, and aesthetics of architecture between 1870 and the present. Presented by Executive Director David Houston, this series will survey major styles and trends while considering ways in which politics and technology shaped the form and function of art and architecture. This event is free for members and $25 for non-members. Members should choose the RSVP option, while non-members should choose the ticket option. 

Session 3: Art in the Age of Image and Information –  May 18, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
This session presents the work of architects Frank Gehry, Norman Foster, Zaha Hadid, and Rem Koolhaas and examines ways their work shaped the landscape of the world we live in.

CEU’s
This lecture series covers history, science, engineering, and visual art and is suited for teachers whose subject areas may be outside of the fine arts. Teachers can earn a total of .6 CEU credits for the three-month lecture series or .2 credits per session. If you are interested in earning CEU credits, you must fill out the attached registration form and return it with the $15 CEU fee on the day of the event. About David Houston
David Houston has taught art and architectural history at the Clemson University School of Architecture, the Brandenburg Technical University in Germany, and the University of New Orleans.  He has played a leading role in the opening of four Art Museums, including the Ogden Museum of Southern Art and the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.  He has authored more than 40 books, exhibition catalogs, and articles on architecture, art, and photography and has served as Executive Director of the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art for the past four years.
